Background: Over a hundred years anthropometric techniques were used by anthropologists and medical scientists to estimate the size of the body. Objective: The purpose of this study was to estimate the stature by pedography system. Method: Measurements of the dominant footprint of 40 young subjects were assisted by pedograph, in dynamic position. The two step protocol, while the participant walked barefoot at a self selected pace was used to collect the data. Five trials of the right foot were recorded and the average calculated for data analysis. The Pearson correlation coefficient used to determine the relationship between the variables. Also, simple linear regression test was used to estimate the stature. Results: The result showed high correlation between the stature and foot length from heel to second toe (p 0.01, R =0.472) and the lowest correlation with the width of the foot in metatarsal phalangeal area (p 0.05, R= 0.016). Between equations to predict the stature, foot length equation from the base of the heel to the tip of second toe has the highest coefficient of determination (R2=0.48). Conclusions: The results of this study showed a strong correlation between the different footprint sizes and the stature. Thus the stature can be estimated by different footprint sizes leaving in crime scene with different regression models.
