The effect of 10 weeks program of injury prevention of FIFA+11 kids on the dynamic balance of the adolescence football players

Introduction: Recently, FIFA developed injury prevention programme for children’s football named “FIFA 11+ Kids”. The “FIFA 11+ for Kids” focuses on improving coordination, strengthening the leg and core muscles, optimizing falling techniques. A study has proved that the “FIFA 11+ for Kids” can prevent injury: players who used the programme suffered 38% fewer injuries than children in the group that used a normal warm-up programme. But there is limited data about the effect of this program on dynamic balance.
Methods: The subjects of this study were 56 players 10 to 15 years old. Players were divided in control and training groups. Training-group subjects participated in 10 weeks “FIFA 11+ kids” twice a week for 10 weeks. Control group players followed a usual warm-up. Dynamic balance evaluated in pretest and posttest by Y balance test in three directions.
Result: Covariance analysis test showed that intervention group players have considerably better results in dynamic Y-balance test in 3 directions of posterior (P= o.oo1) , anterior medial (P= 0.oo1) and anterior lateral (P= 0.001).
Conclusion: The results showed that conducting 10 weeks +11 kids exercises could have a positive effect on the players` dynamic balance in this test. So, it`s recommended that this exercise program is used in order to preventing injury and amelioration of the dynamic balance in the young children Football players.
