In recent years, among various nanomaterials, Mn2O3 oxide nanoparticles have attracted increasing attention because of their use in a variety of applications such as catalysis, battery cathodes, gas sensors, electrochromic films and magnetic materials. Green protocols for the synthesis of Mn2O3 oxide nanoparticles using coffee powder extract has been reported in the present study as they are cost effective and ecofriendly, moreover this paper records that the Mn2O3 nanoparticles prepared from green method shows better cytotoxicity and antibacterial activity. The Mn2O3 nanoparticles were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The formation of a pure Mn2O3 nanoparticles phase was confirmed by XRD and FTIR. The synthesized Mn2O3 nanoparticles was single crystalline having face centered cubic phase with average particle size of 37 nm.
