A Critique of Gilliot s View on the Genesis of the Qur’an

چكيده مصدر قرآن از مباحثي است كه توجه مستشرقان را به خود جلب كرده و همه به نوعي تلاش خود را به كار مي‌گيرند تا بتوانند براي قرآن مصدرسازي كنند. كلود ژيليو نيز از جمله كساني است كه با استناد به عباراتي دليل‌نما در اين باره قلم‌زده است و تلاش كرده الهي بودن قرآن را نفي كند تا آنجا كه تعبير «تاريخ ساخت قرآن» را به كار گرفته است. استناد به روايات تاريخي و وجود واژگان دخيل از جمله دليل او بر مدعايش مبني بر بشري بودن قرآن است. در نوشتار حاضر، ديدگاه ژيليو پيرامون مصدر قرآن بررسي و نقد شده است. واژگان كليدي: قرآن، مستشرقان، مصدر قرآن، كلود ژيليو، وحيانيت قرآن

Abstract The genesis of the Qur’an is one of the issues that has attracted the attention of Orientalists with each one among them exerting their own energies in order to come up with what they deem to be a plausible genesis of the Qur’an. Claude Gilliot is also one of those individuals who has written a thesis on this issue by referring to what he considers “evidence” in an attempt to reject the divinity of the Qur’an. He has gone as far as to employ the phrase “the history of the production of the Qur an.” Moreover, he depends on certain historical narratives and the presence of foreign vocabulary [in the Qur’an] as part of his evidence for claiming the human origins of the Qur’an. In the present paper, Gilliot’s views about the genesis of the Holy Qur’an are reviewed and critiqued. Keywords: Orientalists, genesis of the Qur’an, Claude Gilliot, the Quran as revelation.
