The Foundations of Humanities from the Perspective of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei

Abstract The humanities like other social sciences draw on ontology, epistemology, anthropology, methodology and axiology. The discussion concerning the principles of human sciences is very important, because the difference in the principles lead to a difference of the subsidiary human sciences. The main purpose of this article is to explain the humanities from the perspective of Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei. This article studies Ayatollah Khamenei s perspective, words and statements through a descriptive – analytical method. The leader’s words on the subject-matter are firstly listed and then analyzed followed by conclusions derived from the analysis. This article seeks to explore Supreme Leader s opinion on the foundations and principles of humanities. As will be demonstrated, his opinion is different from those of Western scholars since there are differences in the principles of humanities, the issues of humanities are also different.
