As our search for habitable planets increase, so does the neccesity of looking in the ”correct” areas of the Milky Way galaxy. This paper starts with the notion of circumstellar habitable zone and follows with a discussion on which properties of stars make them more habitable. These findings are then used to figure out which parts of the Milky Way galaxy have host more of these types of stars. We conclude that 50% of all the habitable planets in the Galaxy should lie at R 4.1 kpc. Considering SN sterilizations the inner Galaxy would be the least hospitable region for complex life. However, when we take both star density and metallicity into account, it appears that the inner Galaxy is still ∼ 10 times more hospitable than the other regions of the Galaxy. This shows that the metallicity has a higher impact on the habitability than the SN sterilizations do 1؛. Thus we conclude that we are not located in a particularly favourable spot in the Milky Way Galaxy, but we also mention that the concept of the GHZ might be rather insignificant, and that we need only consider it as a framework in order to organize our ideas about life in the Galaxy.
