The global stability of a self-gravitating disk is studied numerically under the effect of the scalar-tensor-vector theory of modified gravity (MOG). By comparing the results of the evolution of the disk and the bar instability to the results of a bare Newtonian disk, it could be shown that MOG has stabilizing effects and can control the bar instability, in the same manner as if a dark matter halo is included. In fact, we show that free parameters of MOG can be altered in order to have different amounts of bar growth rate.
