Warmongering Thought and American Culture: Reference to Paul Auster’s Man in the Dark

War is essentially an evil thing as its consequences affect the whole world. In Man in the Dark(2008), Paul Auster, the most famous of American metafictional writers, denotes how U.S.A policies are tangled with warmongering. The selected novel evolves round the pivot of human s struggle with war and their efforts to navigate their ship toward peace. This study aims at investigating Paul Auster’s idea of peace which connect worldly affairs and human behavior without turning a blind eye on the next world. This study make use of descriptive method in order to analyze the selected work. To conclude, Paul Auster propagates freedom and justice for all people regardless of their religious affiliations or creedal beliefs. Indeed, Man in the Dark is the reflection of Auster’s psychological and emotional state as well as his ideological stance toward the atrocities of war.
