Different types of zeolites were synthesized using two different techniques: conventional hydrothermal
synthesis (CHS) and microwave assisted hydrothermal synthesis (MAHS) using (2-hydroxyethyl)
trimethylammonium (2-HETMA) as a template. The hydrothermal geneses of AlPO4, in the presence of five
different organic templates have been monitored by XRD. The influence of the chemical composition of the
starting solution and hydrothermal synthesis parameters, i.e., aluminum source, microwave power,
conditions on the formation of zeolite by MAHS and CHS methods were studied by X-ray diffraction
(XRD), and IR spectroscopy. Seven separated resonances were observed by 31P NMR spectroscopy
indicating presence of different complexes in aluminum phosphate sol-gel.
