The interfacial tension is an important parameter in many chemical and petroleum engineering
calculations such as enhanced oil recovery. This paper compares three different equations of state
namely Peng-Robinson (PR), Predictive Soave-Redlich-Kwong (PSRK) and Statistical
Associating Fluid Theory (SAFT) to correlate the interfacial tension in different binary systems for
variety ranges of pressureand temperature. The PR, PSRK and SAFT equations of state (EOSs)
were used to correlate interfacial tension of binary systems. Also the average absolute relative
deviation (AARD) was minimized to obtain optimum values of binary interaction parameters of
SAFT and PR EOSs for each binary system. It has been observed thatSAFT and PRequations of
state were found to give the least average absulte ralative deviation with respect to original
experimental data.
