In the present study, separation of phenol by liquid-liqui extraction method using kerosene as the extracting solvent was investigated. The temperature was set at 20-50 °C, the concentration at 100-500 (mg/l), and pH at 1-6. The rotational speed was set at 500 rpm. The percentage of extraction and the distribution coefficient was calculated. The percentage of extraction was in the range of 15-70% and the distribution coefficient was between 0.18 and 2. Best percentage of extraction and distribution coefficient of phenol was obtained under the conditions of 100 (mg/l), 50oC and pH=6.generally, the results showed that the extraction efficiency and the distribution coefficient were extremely sensitive to temperature and the most important parameters for the extraction were pH of the feed, temperature, and feed concentration, respectively.
