In this paper the problem of decentralized robust nonlinear fault diagnosis for an exprimaental distributed and interconnected four-tank system is investigated. The importance of considering multi tank systems is due to their great applicability in industriay as well as the ability to be implemented as large scale interconnected systems in laboratory setups. Since such systems are nonlinear and distributed, it is desirable to solve this problem in a nonlinear and decentralized method. Therefore, this paper solves this problem by taking the advantage from sliding mode observer designs. Then, simulation results are employed to show the efficiency of the considerd method
