Dynamic Torsion Testing of Structural FRP Composites

A test-rig is introduced for dynamic testing of stuctural FRP composites in torsion. The test method involves steady-state resonance vibration, and can yield both dynamic shear modulus as well as the shear damping of the composite. Equations are also presented that enable measurement of shear modulus not only of the usual, circular-ection samples, but also of rectangular sections. Results are presented showing the viability of the test methodology.
