The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of different foam densities on energy absorption of foam filled sandwich panels. The quasi-static penetration tests were performed on foam filled sandwich panels as well as unfilled sandwiches by flat ended penetrator. Failure mechanisms, specific perforation energy capacity and some structural responses were studied and the effect of foam filling on quasi-static penetration response in these honeycomb sandwich panels was discussed and commented upon.
