Self-healing are being considered as a promising way for restoring mechanical properties of materials after damage occurrence. The incorporation of a self-healing system within a variety of materials has been investigated by a number of workers to date. The aim of this study is to develop a self-healing system in Glare Fiber-Metal Laminates. Hollow glass fibers consisted tow-part resin epoxy as self-healing agent were embedded in the laminate that is capable of delivering healing agents to internal damages. Effects of time are investigated as self-healing route to demonstrate the ability of self-repairing at ambient conditions. The healing process is triggered by crack propagation as a crucial pre-requisite for such systems. The flexural strength results show that inclusion of HGFs results 8% initial reduction from baseline laminate. Healed samples show 87% recovery of undamaged flexural strength of self-healing samples and 78% recovery from baseline laminate for autonomous route. These results suggest that self-healing is now possible for FMLs.
