چكيده فارسي :
This study investigates the impact resistance performance of 4-layer Kevlar fabrics impregnated with shear thickening fluids. The results demonstrate that the STF treated fabrics have significant ballistic performance due to the inherent shear thickening behavior of the fumed silica concentrated suspension which causes an increase in suspension viscosity during impact and consequently drastic increase in frictional interaction between yarns in impregnated fabrics. Numerical simulation is conducted with AUTODYN® software. The results of the numerical simulation have been validated by experimental results available in the literature and show relatively good agreement with them.
