In this investigation, the effect of Al incorporation on the performance of silica FSM-16 supported Nickle catalysts in the Dry Reforming of Methane (DRM) was studied. The analyses of X-ray diffraction (XRD), N2 adsorption/desorption isotherms and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy have been employed for the fresh prepared catalysts. Dry Reforming of methane has been carried out at different temperatures of 750, 800 and 850 ºC and atmospheric pressure in a fixed bed quartz reactor. Ni/Al-FSM-16 showed superior performance in DRM reaction, leading to CH4 conversion of 60%, CO2 conversion of 57% with H2/CO ratio of about 0.74 at 850 ºC after 150 min of reaction. The corresponding yield of H2 (0.47) and CO (0.63) with Ni/Al-FSM-16 enhanced significantly compared to those obtained with Ni/FSM-16 (0.30, 0.42).
