انقلاب اسلامي ايران در سال ۱۳۵۷ به رهبري امام خميني (ره) سرآغازي بود براي نيل به سمت ايجاد تمدن نوين اسلامي در عرصه بين الملل و بازگرداندن معنويت به زندگي بشر ، با ايجاد نظامي كارآمد. با ادعاي ارائه بهترين برنامه ها در عرصه هاي اقتصادي، سياسي، اجتماعي و فرهنگي، تمدني كه قرار است فرهنگ اسلامي را در فضاي عمومي بشر فراگير نمايد ليكن در اين مقاله قصد داريم تا با بيان تعريفي شفاف از توسعه سياسي و بيان نظريات مطرح شده در اين باب در اسلام و غرب به اين سوال پاسخ دهيم آيا تمدن اسلامي مي‌تواند توسعه سياسي را با خود به همراه داشته باشد ؟و با نشان دادن نحوه عملي شدن الزامات توسعه سياسي در تمدن اسلامي با توجه به گفتمان اسلامي و فرمايشات مقام معظم رهبري در تمدن سازي نوين اسلامي به اين نتيجه دست يابيم كه تمدن اسلامي علاوه بر اينكه توسعه سياسي به معناي غربي را در بسياري از شئون در بر مي‌گيرد با شاخصه‌ هايي افزون بر شاخص هاي مطرح شده در نظريات غربي كمال انسان را در نيل به توسعه سياسي جامعه در نظر خواهد گرفت
