In science and engineering, heuristic and intelligent algorithms have been employed in the recent decades which are often Inspired by nature or emerged from the physical principles. In this paper, a new algorithm stemming from electric circuits and the particles’ motion according to the Ohm’s Law will be introduced. The proposed algorithm is a set of particles with different potentials moving on a circuit toward the particle with the lowest potential – defined as the best solution. Comparing the function of this algorithm with Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) in terms of standard benchmark functions shows that in most cases the efficiency and convergence rate to the optimal point have been considerably improved.
