Iranians’ National and Religious Identities and the Issue of Global Peace

For the authors of this paper, establishing good relations with some nations such as Iranians, as one of the pillars of peace, is thought to be easy in the international relations of many countries due to Iranians’ rich national and religious backgrounds. However, the issue that Iranians are looked mostly negative at the international level which is called Iran-phobia promoted recently by the Western media and intertwined with many stories, exaggerations, and distortion of the realities pose a question that what should be done to switch these negative attitudes to positive ones to pave the way for more peace at least in the Middle East region. To improve the world’s perceptions of Iranians, the paper discusses their national and religious identities which lead them to be a peaceful nation. It recommends that Iranians could use social media practically to introduce their national and religious identities to the world in order for instilling fear of Iran and stepping towards global peace.
