The case study is a part of southeast Urumieh –Dokhtar structural zone. Andesite, trachyandesite, andesitic basaltic, dacite, rhyodacite and pyroclastic are widespread over most of the ground surface of the chahargonbad area altered mostly by the hydrothermal solutions. The main rock forming minerals in these rocks are plagioclase, altered pyroxene and hornblende. These units in terms of total rock chemistry are classified as the calc-alkaline volcanic rocks formed in the continental arcs. On the other hand, on the trace elements primitive mantle and chondrite normalized diagrams, the LREE enrichment relative to the HREE. The LILE and LREE show enrichment in comparison to the HFSE. Given the Nd/Nb, Zr/Nb, Ba/La as well as Rb, Th enrichment associated with depletion in Nb, Ti an enrichment related to the subduction zone can be proposed for the Chahargonbad volcanic rocks.
