In this paper, the mechanism of nucleation and growth of Fe, Pt and FePt was studied from a simple bath on glassy carbon substrate. Cyclic voltammetry technique and current transients recorded used to evaluate the electrochemical deposition of Fe, Pt and FePt on glassy carbon. Non-dimensional graphs was plotted according to the Scharifker–Hills theory and concluded a progressive nucleation and with diffusion controlled growth mechanism for all single and multi-component system electrodeposited on glassy carbon based on our experimental conditions. Also, it was shown that the diffusion coefficient of iron ions is about three times larger than that of platinum ions.
