Zeolite Minerals of Abbas-Abad and Kahak, North Central Iran

We report for the first time the zeolite occurrences associated with copper minerals in vesicles, amygdales, veins and veinlets at the study regions. The zeolites are mostly natrolite. Veins of hematite and quartz are found in association with copper minerals. At the Kahak area, brown andesites in association with nummulitic limestones are observed. Natrolite and tetranatrolite are found in rare cases traces of natrolite were found in veins and amygdales. There has been found traces of malachite in the nummulitic limestone. From the evidences at these two areas, it has been concluded that hydrothermal process was probably the cause of zeolite mineral formation at the regions.
