In this research, fly ash from Iran Ferrosilice Company was converted to zeolite P. The process
introduces an alkaline fusion stage before the main zeolite synthesis and all of the used chemicals were
domestically produced industrial grade materials. Zeolite synthesis mixture, which is prepared usingthis
molar ratio : 2.2 SiO2 : Al2O3 : 5.28 Na2O : 106 H2O and after synthesis experiments, the zeolite obtained
was analyzed by means of XRD, XRF , FT-IR and ion exchange capacity of synthesized zeolite P were also
measured by kjeldal method. By this zeolitization process the cation exchange capacity (CEC) was raised up
to 3.23 meq/g. Higher curing temperatures allowed the more stable state zeolite P to be reached .
