Analysis of last year armed conflicts has shown a necessity of perfection of the small arms characteristics. Effectiveness of its application depends significantly on the characteristics of optical sight (OS) installed on this weapon. State-of-the-art of sighting engineering has achieved his limit practically concerning to ensuring of the best optical characteristics of the sights. Further perfection of these device is possible in frames of system “weapon-sight–shooter” taking into account the peculiarity of backgroundtarget situation, influence of shooting dynamics on stability of the optical characteristics of sight and psychical and physiological behavior of human visual system when implementation of military task in whole. The basic directions for increasing of effectiveness for system “weapon-sight–shooter” are increasing of its reliability and decreasing of its vulnerability. The existing circuit solutions and design methods of the sights are taking into consideration some basic parameters of shooter visual system only and behavior of small arms. But assessment of quality for system “weaponsight– shooter” taking into account sufficiently all basic factors of system functioning is missing. All this has led to lag of OS quality of new kinds of small arms. It is decreasing significantly the small arms effectiveness. Therefore increasing of small arms OS effectiveness is actual task.
