In this study, displacement field of stainless steel samples with two parallel sharp edge v-notches will be analyzed using digital image correlation technique (DIC). First stress intensity factor in room temperature will be determined by linear least squares fitting of the displacement field data to the series representation of displacement components. The obtained stress intensity factor then will be used to extract the modulus of elasticity of the material at dry ice temperature. Results indicate that DIC method can effectively be used in determination of fracture parameters in v-notched specimens. Furthermore the proposed method can reliably predict the variation of material properties with temperature. Results show that for precise structural analysis and design, variation of material properties at low temperature must be considered.
