The present state of Translation Studies is looking, with something of a theoretical glare, at the fact that there are no good or bad translation jobs. The outcome is only owed to the way texts are translated. But this is a perspective merely adopted with the academic angle in the field, and not from the audience s points of view that shape their own descriptions and conceptualizations towards a work, either praising or critiquing it accordingly. In this spirit, the theoretical and analytical framework of Appraisal/Evaluation is a discourse analytic machinery of text analysis that is geared more to the intersubjective interpersonal positioning between authors and receivers and the choices made therein. It is applied here to evaluate and explore the linguistic features and aspects of a work, with this paper attempting to apply many dimensions and tools of the framework on J.K. Rowling s The Tales of Beedle the Bard s last fable The Tale of the Three Brothers and undertake a critical comparison with its Persian translation by Vida Eslamiyeh.
