Listening comprehension is one of the most fundamental language skills. Learners can be exposed to a lot of authentic input through listening, and if the input is comprehensible, it would lead to improvement of other areas of language such as pronunciation, speaking and even reading and writing. The present research reports an investigation on whether label extending technique enhances EFL learners listening comprehension by fostering their prediction ability or not. In order to select the sample and to ensure the homogeneity of the participants, the listening comprehension section of an FCE (First Certificate in English) Test was administered to a population of 75 EFL learners in Sepehre-No Language Institute in Ahvaz, with the age range of 15-22 years and representing an intermediate level of English language proficiency level. 40 learners were selected as participants of the study. Then they were randomly divided into two groups namely as a control and an experimental group. The experimental group received the treatment in the form of using label extending listening comprehension activities while the control group received regular listening instruction. The experimentation lasted 10 (90-minute) sessions, which 20 minutes was allocated to listening section. Topnotch, Active 2 was used as the textbook for teaching during the course. The analysis of data using a T- test indicated significant differences between the performances of two groups on post-test. The tentative conclusion was implementing Label extending technique enhanced learners listening comprehension and experimental group outperformed the control group.
