This study aimed to investigate the effect of using song, game, and short story on young EFL learners’ vocabulary learning. To this end, 60 young EFL learners in Nashr institute in Ahvaz were recruited. The participants’ age ranged between 8 and 10. They were randomly assigned to four equal classes, including one control group and three experimental groups. Each experimental group were exposed to one treatment (i.e., song, game, short story) to learn 40 unknown words in 10 sessions. After the last treatment session, an immediate post-test was administered to measure the participants’ vocabulary learning. The participants also took a delayed post-test three weeks later. The results of one-way ANOVAs revealed that the experimental groups outperformed the control group (p .01). Moreover, post hoc Tukey tests showed that song was the most effective technique in improving young EFL learners’ vocabulary learning. Implications arising from these findings are also explained.
