Impact of Subliminal Messages in Holy Quran on EFL Students’ Attitude and Behavior (A Case Study of comparative phonology and psychology)

The importance of subliminal messages has had long interest among scholars of psychology and language. since Subliminal basically means below threshold and subliminal messages are directed at subconscious level where a person is not able to evaluate consciously what is happening to him or her but its impacts seen through indirect way, how cognitive aspect of a person is affected, whether subjects of such religion (Muslims) are able to believe such type of impact, how much thrilled and involved they feel towards characters in such subliminal messages and many other aspects as well. Here in this study we have considered few of the Holy Quran verses considering subliminal messages behind surface structures of alphabetical language so as to see what kind of impact they are able to make on listener behavior and attitude. This study has been limited to EFL students of Khuzestan province, Universities and language centers as well. A sample of 400 was chosen which included male, female, married, unmarried ranging in the age group of 18-35 from different Professional and Non-Professional Back grounds. Results have shown positive impact on most of the components of both attitude and behavior .Thus, subliminal message is a tool for people for generating positive attitude and good feelings in their life patterns. But how such exposure is going to affect life pattern of a people in long run is a matter of concern.
