The previous studies worked on the interrelationship between listening and vocabulary, the relevance and usefulness of strategies in academic context, students’ interaction and understanding. They also focused on the association of learning strategy, learners’ goals and personality. But, small amount of them addressed the relationship between learning styles and strategies for special task. As well, although there are lots of studies on language learning strategies and styles, most of the researches on learning styles and strategies in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) context concentrate more on reading and writing than listening. Dearth of studies can be attributed to the complexity of listening. Thus, this study tries to work on listening in EAP context. To achieve this goal, researchers carried out the case study. They chose five Eap students randomly, then took OPT test to examine their level of proficiency. At last two medical students, at the same age and level of proficiency, of Najafabad Azad University were selected. The data were gathered through questionnaire, interview, and stimulus recall. The findings revealed that students had used specific strategies based on their learning styles. Consequently, it can be concluded that those who are in the same fields of study and somehow the same level of proficiency may have different learning styles and use various strategies.
