This study was carried out to indicate the relationship between high school EFL learner s metacognitive awareness and their self-concept in language learning. In order to show this relationship, researchers used metacognitive awareness questionnaire (Schraw Dennison, 1994) and Tennessee Self-Concept Scale questionnaire (TCS). Metacognitive refers to the ability to reflect upon, understand, and control one s learning. Self-concept is undergoing something of a renaissance in contemporary social psychology. It is the concept the individual has of himself as a physical, social, and spiritual or moral being. Participants of the present study were 100 male and female students who randomly selected from two high schools in Farashband, Fars Province. The data was analyzed using the Pearson s correlation procedure. The results revealed that there was a positive relationship between male and female high school students metacognitive and their self-concept. But the results showed that there was no significant difference between male and female students metacognitive.
