Plant-mediated synthesis which are utilized to produce nanoparticles has gained importance only in the recent decade. An eco-friendly green synthesis of zinc oxide nanoparticles using leaf extract of Peganum harmala was investigated. The XRD spectrum showed three different diffraction peaks corresponding to the crystal planes of ZnO nanoparticles. The purity of zinc oxide nanoparticles was improved with XRD spectum. The average particle size of the synthesized zinc oxide nanoparticles was estimated using the Scherrer equation which is confirmed by SEM image. In this work, the antimicrobial activity of ZnO nanoparticles was studied too. Green synthesized ZnO-NPs could be used effectively in agricultural and food safety applications and also can address future medical concerns.
