Compared with traditional chemical syntheses, biomolecule-assisted syntheses of metal/metal oxide nanomaterials have some advantages such as: low temperature, nontoxic reagents and solvent. We report in this work, the cobalt-iron nano composite was synthesized by an ecofriendly and economically appealing sol-gel route using egg albumen as a binder gel. To produce the precursor of nano composite, the solution of cobalt(II) and iron(III) ions were added to the aqueous solution of white egg. The produced precursor was calcined under air atmosphere at 500°C, for 2h. nanocomposite was characterized by XRD analysis. The size of nanoparticles was calculated by scherer formula and confirmed by SEM images. This work suggest the unique advantages of utilizing egg-white as biomolecule to synthesize nanoparticles.
