The use of natural polymers in the synthesis of nanomaterials can be a cost effective and ecofriendly approach. In this work we report the green chemistry synthesis of Nickel-copper nano composite via sol-gel method using starch. The nano composite was obtained by calcination of precursor at 400°C under air atmosphere. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) imaging showed the formation of nano composite in the scale of nannometer. The powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) analysis confirmed the purity of produced nanoparticles. The synthesis of Nickel-copper nanocomposite in starch media were found to be comparable to those obtained from conventional methods using hazardous polymers or surfactants and can be an excellent alternative for the synthesis of nanomateials using biomaterials.
