In recent years, different physical, chemical and biological methods have been used to decolorize synthetic dyes and wastewater. One of the biological methods noticed more than before, is related to enzyme application. The ability of white rot fungus Phanerochaetechrysosporium to decolorize molasses was investigated by several researches. Ligninases are produced during secondary metabolism by nutrient starvation. The main ligninolytic enzyme produced by this microorganism is manganese peroxidase which has high activity compared to other enzymes. Veratryl alcohol is used as an enzyme production activator and glucose is the first choice of carbon source for this system. Spectrophotometric measures demonstrated that the percentage of decolorization is about 58 in stationary mood. Agitated systems have more efficiency compared with stationary ones, because of high rate of oxygenation. Immobilization of P.chrysosporium in a bioreactor by kaldness packings bring more capability in cell growth and enzyme production in comparison with free cell system because of high rate of oxygenation and more distribution in the production medium.
