In the age of global warming, it is critical to reduce heat and hazardous wastes emission from different sources. Furnaces produce a large amount of CO, unburnt products and heat during the combustion process. Furthermore, the portion of energy is wasted to the atmosphere from the furnace stack. In this work, attempts have been made to burn the unburnt products of furnace and use the waste heat of the furnace to produce hydrogen with methanol steam reforming. The membrane reactor is used to produce pure hydrogen and simulated with software. The results showed that the process will lead to consume about 80% of wasted heat and decrease 70% of CO emission. Furthermore, the produced pure hydrogen could be used in vehicles with PEM fuel cells. This will also reduce the air pollution via reducing fossil fuel consumption.
