In stone cutting factories, the big raw pieces of stone from the mines are cut by cutting equipment and shaped into precise dimensions. In this process, there exist problems such as high consumption of water, water wasting and stone residual production which are the main challenges in these types of industries. According to statistics, there are nearly 5500 stone cutting units in the country, producing more than 5 million tons of residuals and stones sludge annually. Stone-cutting factories working with only one cutting equipment produce nearly 400 tons of waste, and if there are two cutting equipment almost 600 tons of waste are produced on average annually. The remaining wastes are constituted of two- third crushed stones and one-third sludge. Recycling and reusing stones sludge for mosaic, brick, artificial stone and concrete production could reduce the environmental issues.
