Separation of carbon dioxide, CO2, from the flue gases is one of the essential policies in industrial units. New methods have been developed to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Nowadays, studying gas hydrate technologies is crucial due to its practical aspects in separating processes. Separating carbon dioxide from syngas mixtures is an outstanding example of separation in industrial processes. There are a lot of typical ways to separate CO2 such as adsorption, chemical methods and membrane separation. The studied process in this work is based on selectivity of the CO2 of syngas mixtures for hydrate formation. In this work, a thermodynamic modeling was carried out using the van der Waals and Platteeuw (vdW-P) solid solution theory for predicting hydrate dissociation temperatures. Also, the reported Kihara parameters of methane and CO2 were used for to predict the hydrate dissociation temperatures. The reported parameters were taken from Sloan 1998, Sloan and Koh 2007, Parish and Prausnitz 1972, Barkan and Sheinin 1993and Avlonitis 1994, and the measured errors of hydrate dissociation temperatures were 0.28, 0.51, 5.67,6.76, 1.83 K, respectively. The modeling results illustrated that the Kihara parameters reported by Sloan 1998 were more compatible with the literature experimental data.
