One of the solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is the capture and storage of carbon dioxide. This work studies the absorption of Carbon Dioxide into aqueous solutions of 1,3Diaminopropane + Monoethanolamine mixture in a stirred cell contactor in which, the diaminopropane is added to solutions as an activator. The solubility of CO2 in this mixture with substance concentrations of MEA (10% wt) + DAP (5% wt) and MEA (12.5% wt) + DAP (2.5% wt) was measured at temperatures (313.15, 323.15 and 333.15 ) K. The gas solubility results are expressed as the partial pressure of CO2 (PCO2) against CO2 loading i.e. αCO2). The equilibrium and thermodynamic model based on improved Kent-Eisenberg have been proposed. AAD% for MEA (10% wt) + DAP (5% wt) and MEA (12.5% wt) + DAP (2.5% wt) was 12% and 16%, respectively. The pseudo- first order rate constant for kinetic reaction of DAP represented for this mixture which follows an Arrhenius temperature dependence with activation energy of 3.802×104kj/kmol which had R-square of 0.9372.Finally a physical property package for DAP + MEA was assembled and inserted into Aspen Plus V8.8 to simulate an absorption Tower (Rad-Frac).The results of sensitivity analysis showed that every 1%wt increase in DAP as an activator, enhanced the the percent of CO2 recovery, the results also indicated that the best percent for DAP is about 3%wt.
