In this study, biological sodium alginate- nanomagnetic-hydroxyapatite adsorbent has been used to remove chromium (VI) and copper (II) from aqueous solution. Sodium alginate (Alg) is modified with nanomagnetic (Fe3O4), and hydroxyapatite (HAP) nanoparticles, extracted from fish scale. Alg-nHAP-Fe3O4, Alg-(nHAP-Fe3O4 composite) and Alg were used to remove Cr(VI) and Cu(II) in batch separately method from the aqueous solution. The results showed that Cr(VI) adsorption capacity for 0.01 g of adsorbent and initial concentration of 50 ppm and contact time of 4 hours and the optimum pH=2.5, were 5.145 and 5.185 and 4.98 mg/g, respectively. However, the removal percentage was obtained 18.95, 19.09 and 17.81%, respectively. The adsorption capacity of Cu(II) for alg-nHAP-Fe3O4, Alg-(nHAP-Fe3O4 composite) and Alg, in condition 0.01 g of adsorbent and initial concentration of 50 ppm and contact time of 4 hours and the optimum pH=6, were obtained 100 and 105.83 and 80 mg/g, respectively, and their removal were achieved 34.38 and 34.98 and 27.5%, respectively. The final concentration of ions was measured spectrophotometry.
