Dissolved air flotation (DAF) is a water treatment process that eliminates suspended matter such as oil or solids from wastewaters by the floating technics. Dissolved air flotation is quite common process in refining the industrial wastewater effluents from oil refineries, petrochemical and chemical plants, natural gas processing plants, general water treatment and similar industrial facilities.Sometimes DAF Separators faces several problems during operation period such as safety problems, efficiency decrement, and failing process. This kind of problems and causes are less considered prior to use this process. Several factors that could hugely affect functional system are flow rate, design capacity, emulsifying agents, maintenance practices, Suitability of DAF to process, and Contaminants Contained in system. in this article we are going to review problems and causes and also how to address issues through literature review.
