In this study the effects of cofeeding on microdiet and Artemia franciscana nauplii for improving feeding strategies of Neotropical green terror cichlid (Aequidens rivulatus) larvae were investigated. For this purpose, 360 fish with initial weight of 17.5 ± 0.30 mg were randomly allotted into 12 plastic tanks (working volume: 6 L) and assigned to four groups in triplicates. This trial lasted for 25 days and consisted of different diets and feeding regimes: (1) 25 days fed with Artemia nauplii (25 AN); (2) 10 days fed with un-enriched Artemia nauplii, and a %10 daily replacement of Artemia nauplii with microdiet (10 AN); (3) 5 days fed with un-enriched Artemia nauplii, and a %10 daily replacement of Artemia nauplii with microdiet (5 AN); and (4) 1 days fed with un-enriched Artemia nauplii, and a %10 daily replacement of Artemia nauplii with microdiet (1 AN). The survival rate was significantly affected by the co-feeding strategies and decreased by reducing the feeding period of Artemia nauplii. The survival rate was significantly higher in treatments 25 AN (%87.78) and 10 AN (%90.55) compared to other groups and the lowest survival rate (%36.67) was obtained in 1 AN group. The results showed that in 10 AN treatment (116.67 mg, 20.78 mm, %562.33, %7.56, respectively) the total weight, total length, %WG and SGR were significantly affected by the co-feeding strategies and exhibited higher values compared to 25, 5 and 1 AN treatments. Moreover, the fish in 25 AN treatment had significantly lowest values of total weight (92.83 mg), total length (19.45 mm), %WG (%426.56) and SGR (%6.63). The results of this study revealed that fish fed 10 AN treatment improves survival and growth performance of Neotropical green terror cichlid, Aequidens rivulatus larvae.
