The present study was conducted to find out the life cycle characteristics of three Crimean salt lakes Artemia populations. The cyst of parthenogenetic strains were collected from three different geographic regions of Crimean including Artemia Garilgaech, Artemia Konrad and Artemia Saky populations in the western part of Crimean. The cysts were hydrated in tap water for 2 h and then incubated under standardized hatching conditions and the Artemia instar-I was cultured at 90 g/L at the laboratory conditions. Survival and the total length of Artemia were measured on 8 till 23 (every three days). 30 Artemia selected for reproductive and lifespan characteristics, haphazardly. The observations showed no significant differences between three strains in reproductive and lifespan (P 0.05). The maximum total length was obtained by Saky strain (10.71 mm) and the Konrad revealed the lowest length (9.08 mm), but there were no significant differences in survival among the three populations. Based on results obtained, there was no superiority between three strains under the laboratory conditions, which could be due to genetic diversity and especially differences in the media culture
