In this paper, a novel microwave power divider/combiner based on Gysel structure and ridge-gap waveguide (RGW) technology is proposed and simulated. The proposed structure has the advantages of Gysel structure which overcomes some drawbacks in Wilkinson power divider in high power and high frequency applications. Besides, it has the advantages of the novel RGW technology too, such as low loss, broad bandwidth, low sensitivity to manufacturing error, usable at high frequencies, easy integration of active components, etc. Therefore, using Gysel type building block and RGW technology for implementation foundation makes it suitable to low-cost high-power millimeter-wave applications. A two-way Ku-band power divider/combiner is designed and simulated which can be extended to arbitrary 1:N power divider/combiners. With -10dB return loss and -3 dB insertion loss criteria, a bandwidth more than 20% is achieved.
