نقد امري ضروري و معياري براي سنجش آثار معماري به حساب مي آيد. يكي از مهمترين اهداف نقد در حوزه ي معماري دستيابي به حركت عقلاني براي درك آن اثر است. شناخت صحيح معماري در واقع بيانگر چگونگي فهم و درك انسان از ماهيت ساختمان ها و آثار معماري و عوامل مؤثر در شكل گيري آنها است. براي تحليل علمي و معتبر آثار نياز به تعيين معيار براي نقدي كارآمد و علمي احساس مي گردد. با توجه به رويكردهاي نقد، نقد معياري با تعريف معيار هاي از پيش تعيين شده و متناسب با اثر براي دستيابي به چنين اهدافي مي تواند مفيد باشد. با توجه به ضرورت استفاده از چنين نقدي در معماري، بررسي متون نقد معماري براي دستيابي به جايگاه اين رويكرد از نقد در معماري معاصر ايران از اهميت بالايي برخوردار است. يافته هاي تحقيق نمايش دهنده ي آن است كه در كشور ما، رويكرد نقد معياري همواره مورد توجه متخصصين اين حوزه قرار گرفته است و با معيارهاي ثابت و از پيش تعيين شده نمي توان به نقد همه آثار پرداخت، بلكه بايد براي هر اثر، متناسب با آن اثر، معيار تدوين نمود.
