Abstract Background The Ovary is in the form of two tubers on the two aides of the uterus which covers the end of ovarian tube. Ovarian cancer is one of most common cancer in women. 2 percent of women who don t have a family history of the disease may be infected. MicroRNA is a non-coding molecule which controls the expresses of the gene after transcription. In this study, by using the bioinformatics databases, were investigated the signaling pathways affecting the prevention of proliferation and apoptosis of cancerous ovarian cells and its relationship with MiR-20a-5p Materials and Methods This study was of a bioinformatics type and has been accessed through bioinformatics databases such as mirbase, mirtarbase, NCBI, mirwalk and DAVID . Thus, from mirbase ,the chromosomal profile of this miRNA was received. From mirtarbase , the target genes of this miRNA were identified and using DAVID , the link between genes and genetic pathways was identified and analyzed. Results According to the results miR-20a-5p can be expected to control some of pathways of proliferation and apoptosis of ovarian cancer cells by effecting the expression of proteins PI3K, Cyclin D1 and P21. By inhibiting PI3K protein, the PI3K-Akt pathway is inhibited and cancer cells are directed to apoptosis. Also by inhibiting protein Cyclin D1, the pathway of proliferation is stopped, as a result, the cancer cells don t reproduce. Another is the P21 protein, which miR-20a-5p can withstand, stopping the pathway of the cancer cell cycle. Conclusion Depending on the findings and results, it can be argued that miR-20a-5p can lead the pathway of cancerous ovarian cells towards apoptosis, and also it can inhibit the growth and proliferation pathways cancer cells, to avoid progress and also to destroy cancer cells in this disease.
