In this report, g-C3N4 nanosheet/Carbon dots/BiOBr (signify as NCN/CDs/BiOBr) nanocomposite was successfully applied for the elimination Congo-Red as typical azo dye under visible-light irradiation. The results showed that photocatalytic performance of this material was significantly higher for the degradation of this dye. The ternary nanocomposite demonstrated the highest ability that is as much as 22.2, 6.4, and 3.6 times of the pure CN, NCN, and NCN/CDs in photodegradation of Congo-Red dye, respectively. This work highlights the potential application of extremely effective CDs anchored semiconductors in environment and related applications including waste water cleaning.
