Modeling of fluid flow through porous media carried out using a class of cellular automata (FHP lattice gas). A computerized program based on FHP rules was developed in MATLAB. At first different porous media with known porosity was generated by Boolean variable in a two-dimensional lattice. Then the fluid flow through the porous medium was simulated using FHP model rules. The permeability of each porous media was calculated by Darcy’s law. The results have been compared with Civan’s equation and show a good agreement.
