This paper describes recent progress of an investigation of the preparation, processing, assembly and activation of alumina nanoparticles that are of potential interest to green reaction catalysis. The activity of the catalyst will generally depend on the size of its size, where a catalyst with small particles in nano meter size will give high activity due to the large number of atoms available on the metal particles surfaces. The understanding of the control factors in terms of nanoparticle size has important implications to the design of highly active nano alumina catalysts for practical applications. A new, facile and simple process for synthesizing of different classes of aldehydes and ketones into the corresponding semicarbazones with semicarbazide hydrochloride using basic nanoparticles of alumina was studied. The nanoparticles were characterized by TEM. The yield and time of the different reactions has been studied in this research
